Such products also may have fake trademarks of reputable manufacturers.</p>
<p>These lights tend to fail and cause electrical fires in your home. No federal law mandates third-party testing for electrical products, but many retailers require it. The Consumer Product Safety Commission advises consumers to look for safety certification on products like holiday lights and extension cords.</p>
